Alena Mikhaylova, Ph.D.

Alena Mikhaylova, Ph.D. joined the Rinker Materials, a concrete pipe manufacturer in 2016 as a Product Resource Engineer. Graduating in 2005 from Gubkin’s Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Moscow with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering she moved to the U.S. and earned a Master’s in Civil Engineering and later Ph.D. in Civil Engineering degree in 2013 from the UT Arlington. Ms. Mikhaylova is currently pursuing MBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business.

 

Ms. Mikhaylova actively supports the engineering community by serving on ASTM C13 and F17 sub-committees and as a member of Transportation Research Board AKB70 Standing Committee on Culverts, Buried Bridges and Soil Structure Interaction. Alena co-established Houston Section of American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) in 2018 and has served on the board of ASHE Houston since its inception, being instrumental in its rapid growth.

 

With her ongoing support and promotion of STEM education, Alena is committed to encouraging and inspiring the next generation of engineers and industry leaders. Alena’s vision for the Infrastructure Advancement Institute is to become an arm for technology and best practices transfer between agencies, municipalities, consultants and contractors through annual summits and committee collaborations for the greater good of Texas infrastructure.
