Stan Swiatek, P.E.

Stan Swiatek,PE, is the District Engineer for TxDOT's Waco District. He has served in that position since June 1, 2017.

Swiatek earned his Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering from Penn State University in 1982 and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Detroit-Mercy in 1989. He became a licensed professional engineer in 1986. He started his TxDOT career in 2012 as Director of Transportation Planning & Development in the Amarillo District. He served as District Engineer in the Abilene District for three and a half years, after two years in the consulting arena and an 18-year employment with the Florida Department of Transportation.  Prior to FDOT, he worked for 12 years for Asea Brown Boveri in the petrochemical/power plant construction industry.

As Waco District Engineer, Swiatek oversees planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of a more than 7,500 lane-mile state transportation system. 

His spare time is reserved for golf, woodworking, avid Penn State Football fan and completing a never-ending bucket list of backpacking trips along epic trails.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is a government agency in the U.S. state of Texas. Though the public face of the agency is generally associated with the construction and maintenance of the state's immense state highway system, the agency is also responsible for overseeing aviation, rail, and public transportation systems in the state.

 

The department is organized into 25 geographical districts and 34 divisions. TxDOT is one of the state's largest departments in terms of the number of subordinate offices – it maintains 25 geographical districts throughout the state.
